Just 10 minutes from the airport, this pretty resort town is not only convenient, it also offers a wonderful stretch of beach with shallow water \u2013 perfect for safe splash-abouts. On Playa del Castillo, you\u2019ll find changing rooms, showers, and shaded sunbeds for hire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little ones will love the mini train that runs from the marina to the beach, stopping off at all the major hotels along the way. At the marina, don\u2019t miss a ride on the pink glass-bottom boat, taking passengers out to spot the island\u2019s colourful sea life \u2013 a top experience for toddlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to choosing a hotel, look no further than Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort<\/a>. Your mini-travellers will love the fun splash park, and the hotel has a choice of accommodation, with bungalows and suites designed for families. Away from the beaches, you\u2019ll find plenty of ways to stay occupied. The African Market makes for a fun afternoon out, offering everything from T shirts and watches to leather goods and bracelets. For a magical experience, hop on a boat trip from Costa Calma to watch whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boasting year-round heated pools for children and adults, a splash park, and an all-day kid\u2019s club for ages 4-12, there\u2019s zero chance of boredom at this beachfront resort. Family fun includes p\u00e9tanque, table tennis, board games, and lively evening entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The southern resort town of Morro Jable<\/a> is the smart choice if you\u2019ve got older kids or tweens in tow. The beach is picture-perfect, with an endless stretch of light sand and clear, azure waters. Lifeguards man the beach year-round, and there are kiosks dotted along the sand for icy drinks. Just don\u2019t forget the snorkel \u2013 this is one of the best places for spotting marine life on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nature lovers, there\u2019s a turtle sanctuary to visit, home to injured and recovering sea turtles. It\u2019s a great place to see these fascinating creatures up-close, and learn about their conservation. You also won\u2019t want to miss a boat tour to Lobos Island, home to a stunning lagoon and a towering, extinct volcano \u2013 a captivating day out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a family stay in Morro Jable, Iberostar Playa Gaviotas<\/a> is hard to beat. Offering direct access to the beach, and with 3 outdoor pools, (one heated) water lovers will be in their element. There\u2019s tons to do on-site, including archery, tennis and squash, along with an excellent kids\u2019 club for ages 8-12. Adults can indulge at the spa circuit, or enjoy a chilled cocktail from one of 5 bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best place to stay with young teens (ages 13-15)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tucked away on the northwest coast, El Cotillo is perfect for active teens. Here, you\u2019ll find Fuerteventura\u2019s best beach for beginner surfers \u2013 Playa del Castillo (not to be confused with the beach of the same name on the east coast!). There are around a dozen surf schools to choose from within walking distance, making it easy to shop around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your kids don\u2019t fancy taming the waves, there are other fun activities in El Cotillo to try out, including horse riding along coastal paths, mountain bike rides, and segway safaris on the beach. There\u2019s even a giant labyrinth made from stones \u2013 get to the centre first for bragging rights!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our pick of the hotels goes to Coral Cotillo Beach Hotel<\/a>, an all inclusive resort just yards from the white sands of Playa de Los Lagos. There\u2019s a large pool for cooling dips, a modern gym, a padel court, and even a climbing wall. At the beach, there are all the water sports you could think of, from canoeing and paddleboarding to jet ski rides and kite surfing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On land, there\u2019s a water park for a day of splash-about fun, and a skateboard park offering surf-skate lessons. There are dune buggy adventures to go on, shopping streets full of cheap designer clothes, and a variety of fast food joints serving everything from burgers and pizza slices to tacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to choosing a place to stay, you\u2019ll want somewhere with 2 separate bedrooms and, ideally, all inclusive  dining \u2013 cue Las Marismas de Corralejo<\/a>.
