Spain has long been a favourite for holiday makers from the UK, attracted by the short flights times and numerous beach resorts along the countries famous Costas. Many of these areas have resorts with a British feel to them and a full English breakfast and pub never too far away. To get a bit more of a Spanish feel, head to resorts such as Altea and Denia on the Costa Blanca, with their tree lined streets, tapas bars and a bit of flamenco dancing.
Although it's a lot cooler between October and April it is still a popular destination for anyone wanting a weekend or extended break. Guests from the UK have been travelling to resorts such as Benidorm and Torremolinos for breaks up to 3 months, taking advantage of the comfortable daytime temperatures and escaping the cold winter weather back home.
Some other very popular Spanish destinations are the Balearic and Canary islands, both of which have a slightly longer flight time, but offer a range of different resorts to satisfy all tastes. The islands have seen an increase in popularity since the low cost carriers, such as Easyjet and Ryanair, have offered flights departing from many of the UK regional airports.
