As part of the recognised Pickalbatros brand you can expect great things from the Albatros Palace Resort. Its 5 star charms are instantly noticeable with a grand reception area, where chandeliers show off its intricate ceiling design and the elegant mismatched seating creates a cosy atmosphere.

Built across 750,000 square metres, its extensive outdoor space is bursting with fun from four pools, some complete with kids slides, a shopping area where you’ll find a whole host of local items and a fully-equipped gym for fitness types. But it doesn’t get much better than a location perched on the famous Red Sea coastline with access to your very own private patch of sand.

With 621 rooms in three styles including fancy suites, standard stays and family accommodation, everyone is catered for. Decorated to perfection with a big emphasis on dark and light, admire its Arabian touches, from its elaborate mirrors to its arched doorway. This hotel has an exceptional All Inclusive concept, meaning you won’t have to skip a meal time. In fact, it caters to every holidaymaker with its early and late breakfast alongside an additional dinner sitting – perfect for anyone who likes the flexibility of being able to dine when they want. And the selection is huge – guests can choose from six restaurants, each specialising in a different cuisine and eight bars, more than enough for a week’s holiday.

Mediterranean Restaurant: Serving all your main meals, try tasty eggs for breakfast, hit the salad corner at lunch and sample seafood for dinner – you won’t be able to resist this flavour-filled spread.

Tagine: As the hotel’s oriental eatery, expect a Middle Eastern feel throughout. Bold Arabic designs adorn the walls, candle holders decorate the tables and traditional live music sets the tone for the evening. As for food, your mouth will be watering as aromatic tagines are brought to your table. This dinner-only venue is open from 6.30pm – 9.30pm.

Zum Kaiser: With a German theme, this buffet style eatery is known for its European influences. Opening from 6.30 – 9.30pm, head her for delicious dinners.  

Salsa Mexican: Serving amazing Mexican food, this spice-filled restaurant is a holiday highlight. With numerous cooking stations dishing out country favourites, get ready to indulge gourmet style. Head here from 6.30pm – 9.30pm. 

Il Caminetto: Filled with warm interiors and a traditional oven, enjoy made-to-order pizzas and the freshest pasta daily. Open for all of your main meals – you can enjoy every meal here.

Oritential Palace Bar: You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Morocco when you walk into this oriential themed venue. Let the bar staff work their magic as they create the tastiest cocktails, all while you admire the ornate light fittings and colourful geometric patterns. Fill up on All Inclusive drinks from 10am – midnight.

Columbus Café: The smell alone is enough to lure you in. With odours of sweet pastries and strong coffee lingering in the air, be sure to pay this cafe a visit. What’s more, it’s open 24 hours a day. 

Afandena Lounge: If you want to experience a taste of traditional Egypt, this shisha smoking spot is the place to be. Plus, its garden setting makes it seem all the more authentic. It’s open from 11am – midnight.

Splash Beach Bar: Offering light lunches, which are served from 12.30pm and snacks from 3pm, sit surrounded by lush greenery as you take in glistening sea views. There’s also a wide selection of drinks to keep you hydrated.

Pool Bar: Everyone loves a pool bar, and this submerged venue is no different. Stay cool under the Egyption heat and enjoy a refreshing beer as you float.

Terrace Bar: With the best views in the hotel, this outdoor terrace is the place to head from 10am – midnight thanks to its unbeatable vistas of the poolside and surrounding gardens extending all the way to the Red Sea.

Families haven’t been left out either, when your little ones aren’t in Nemo Kids Club getting messy with activities such as painting and baking, they’ll love making friends in the onsite playground and riding the mini waterslides. Over on the beach, breathtaking Red Sea wonders await with calm waters ideal for swimming, while volleyball takes place on the sand. With beautifully designed treatment rooms complete with floor candles and cosy colours, the spa is the place to unwind, not to mention it also houses a steam room and sauna.

A favourable location

Adored for its fantastic transfer time sitting just 15 minutes down the road from Hurghada airport, you’ll be trying out the hotel’s many highlights in no time. Home to a private stretch of sand, you can’t get much closer to the Red Sea coastline. Filled with diving centres, there’s plenty of opportunity to see what’s hiding below the surface. Known for its impressive submerged sights and world-famous reefs housing a host of exotic marine life – it’s one for the bucket list.

Away from the water, you can reach the centre of Hurghada in 20 minutes where you’ll find traditional drinking and dining spots are aplenty. There’s also an aquarium which is a great way for non-swimmers to experience the area’s underwater marvels without entering the water. Further afield, camel rides are a great way to see the desert, but nothing is more exciting than delving into the country’s past. Explore historical masterpieces such as the Temples of Karnak and the Valley of the Kings with a day trip.
