Ark Santorini hotel comprises ten individually designed suites that follow the island’s Kasteli architectural traditions, each created to provide privacy and a strong connection with the surrounding landscape. Location

Located on a hilltop in Pyrgos, Ark places guests in Santorini’s most traditional village, once the island’s capital and one of its historical fortified settlements. The immediate area is characterised by maze-like alleys, whitewashed cave-like houses carved into volcanic rock, flourishing bougainvillea and a main square where locals meet for coffee, ouzo and small plates. The village retains a strong sense of history with the Venetian Kasteli and the Kasteloporta still in evidence, and it is home to numerous churches and chapels — the text notes 49 in total — while seasonal religious processions and local festivals provide an opportunity to witness longstanding local traditions.

Facilities

Facilities at Ark reflect a boutique approach, focused on privacy and service. Each of the ten suites has unique features but shares a consistent standard of fittings and furnishings. Suites are designed around the ark concept to maximise privacy and outward views; many open directly onto spacious terraces with private water installations and heated pools or plunge pools. Interior appointments include a rain shower, marble vanity, separate toilet, a desk, Smart TV with satellite channels, multiple streaming speakers, a mini bar and climate control. Outdoor areas are equipped with shaded day-bed lounges, dining tables and sun decks with double sun loungers so guests can use their private terraces as an extension of the suite.

Sports & Entertainment

While Ark is not a resort of organised sports, it supports active discovery of Santorini through a range of curated experiences. The concierge can arrange organised excursions and tailor-made day trips to explore volcanic landscapes, cliff-top viewpoints and lesser-known parts of the island, and will assist with bookings for guided walks through Pyrgos’s alleys and chapel routes. On site, the water features and private heated pools provide a place for swimming and relaxation, and the property’s location makes it straightforward for guests to explore the village on foot, participate in local events and visit nearby historical points of interest.

Dining at Ark mixes in-suite provisions with access to local flavours.
