The hotel's geographical location proves to be strategic for visiting Eastern Sicily (the UNESCO heritage of Syracuse and Noto, the nature reserves of Vendicari, Cava Grande del Cassibile, Pantalica, the Isola delle Correnti, Piazza Armerina, Modica, Ragusa, Catania, Etna, Taormina). In 2000, when Giuseppe La Spina bought the estate, one of the oldest hospitality facilities in Southeast Sicily, he had a clear vision to support the enterprise: the desire to guard the territory, the Sicilian identity, and the history of the places. This clear and forward-looking vision led to a project to requalify the property in complete respect of the natural environment and local traditions. An all-Sicilian project that is constantly evolving, a reflection of sensitive and dynamic entrepreneurship, attentive to current trends and ready to bet on change, with Giuseppe's sons, Antonio and Cristian, as its natural heirs. With an absolutely contemporary vision and an old-fashioned perseverance and dedication, the two brothers embark on the requalification work, always putting social responsibility first. In 2014, sensing that the market trend would shift towards a demand for exclusive and personalised experiences, the La Spina family began acquiring and restyling unique and sophisticated villas to offer guests a private setting and enrich their hotel offering. In recent years, following the wave of modernisation that reconciles past and present, wellness and sustainability, Antonio and Cristian embarked on a new challenge that brought the resort's rooms to the forefront, with the restyling of the interiors revealing the vibrant soul of Sicily: a generous land of sunny olive groves and fragrant citrus groves, of refined majolica that tells stories of millennial traditions and blend with the colours of the sea. The exteriors are expanded to benefit from a private dimension, enriched by Mediterranean vegetation and characterized by the use of materials that evoke the territory, thanks to the use of vulcanic rock from Etna and the white stone of Syracuse. The view over Ortigia has been completely redesigned: glass walls eliminate all barriers creating an intimate contact between the sea and the sky. With the aim of enhancing the central role of nature in the travel experience of the guests, in 2020, 30,000 square metres of authentic Sicilian countryside were acquired. A garden to discover whilst strolling between rows of olive trees, carob trees and prickly pears, to allow for a completely natural well-being, savouring the rhythm of the seasons and reestablishing a balance with the earth. Today, Minareto is a project firmly rooted in its territory and history, capable of taking the suggestions of a present that rediscovers the value of wellness as perfect harmony with nature and with one's own time.
