As one of the most reputable brands in Madeira, you can expect 4 star luxury by the bucketload alongside outstanding service and high-end facilities. Not to mention a location that you’ll fall head over heels for with its positioning in the city of Funchal. With expanses of tropical gardens, one of the largest swimming pools on the island and two exquisite restaurants to its name, it’s a number one holiday hotspot.

Did we mention it’s award-winning too? It’s one of the newest hotels in the capital and yet it’s already won a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for its incredible perks. Now that’s impressive!

Contemporary rooms

Famed for its panoramic views, unexpected niches and authentic character, even the most standard rooms are full of surprises. Classic seaside options come equipped with a duo of single beds featuring perfectly plump pillows and up to 38 square metres of space. Not forgetting the mini bar, Wi-Fi and air conditioning which provides premium comfort. Upgrade for awe-inspiring Atlantic vistas with a superior number.

Suites, on the other hand, come with a living area, dining room alongside two marble bathrooms. And when you clap eyes on the larger-than-life balcony, you won’t even need the pool area for sunbathing. Honeymooners can also benefit from their own dedicated option which is beautifully decorated with glossy wooden floors and its own master bedroom. As for its biggest highlight, that will be the bathtub which is perfectly positioned in the centre of the room.

A dining experience to savour

Every week you’ll be lured in by different menus and themed nights, thanks to the hotel’s culinary diversity. As well as the option of an executive a la carte which is inspired by the island’s classics. We highly recommend the Half Board option to benefit from its eateries without pulling out your wallet. But Bed and Breakfast is also a top choice for those always on the go exploring Madeira’s wild terrain. And trust us, the morning treats won’t disappoint.

Breezes: Overlooking the immense pool area and Atlantic Ocean, breakfast and dinner are served with a view. Here, you’ll feast on a selection of international options including English fry-ups for breakfast and sizzling meats come evening, all at a premium quality. In the morning, expect this joint to be open from 7am until 10.30am, while themed dinners are dished out between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Deep-Blue: This is the hotel’s a la carte option with specialties including Portuguese Black Scabbard fish and passion fruit pudding. However, around-the-world favourites are also part of the menu should you wish to sample some home comforts between 7pm and 10pm.

The Deck: Enough about food, this open-air bar sits at the edge of the infinity pool serving everything from creamy milkshakes to zesty Poncha and world-renowned Madeira wine. Although, light snacks can be whipped up when you’re feeling peckish.

More than just a viewpoint

Despite its name and location, there’s so much more to the Pestana Promenade Premium Ocean & Spa than meets the eye. For instance, its pool area is one of its biggest allures with its water submerged sunloungers and laid-back ambience. There’s even an indoor number featuring a hot tub for steamy soaks. Whereas the Magic Spa will captivate anyone in need of a pamper with its couples massage area and rejuvenating saunas.

Don’t be fooled by its sophisticated appearance either, children are just as welcome with dedicated beds around the swimming pool, an activities schedule and a games room equipped with all the must-have technology. Although reservations or additional costs may be acquired, guests can also benefit from watersports, tours and catamaran sailings.

One of the best spots in Funchal

Without even leaving the property you can see the historic Cais do Carvão on the shoreline – this former coal wharf was once a stop-off for ships travelling to America. But as well as that, your location places you on the promenade stretching from the Lido to Praia Formosa and just is just a 15 minute walk from the centre where 15th century cathedrals, traditional restaurants and Madeira’s most legendary cable car all anticipate your arrival.
