Please note that Sheraton Miramar is making refurbishment of some rooms. The works are taking place without noise disturbance and are planned to be completed by end of November 23.

Situated in Downtown El Gouna, which is part of Egypt’s popular Hurghada area, Sheraton Miramar Resort lives up to its 5 star status. Designed by Michael Graves, an award-winning architect, prepare to be wowed by the hotel’s dazzling interiors. Maintaining its traditional identity the decor has oriental influences, from its beautiful bespoke light fittings to its opulent furniture and fancy marble features. Built across nine islands, which are all connected via wooden footbridges and surrounded by blooming plant life, its exterior is just as impressive.

There’s a choice of pool areas for adults from a large lively number with a DJ to a smaller option perfect for relaxing or swimming. While, littles can head for the shallow alternative which comes surrounded by sunloungers so parents can keep a watchful eye on their tiny tots. As for dining, it doesn’t get much better than an antique boat converted into a wine bar and a restaurant specialising in Middle Eastern fare with stunning views of the glowing Red Sea come sunset.

Lagoon, pool or beach views from your room

All rooms have a minimalist design with a cream, white and red colour scheme creating a warm atmosphere. And you can’t miss your balcony or terrace with bright blue glass panel doors leading you outside. You can enjoy a choice of views too, whether you want to wake up to the sound of the ocean, scenic lagoon waters or prefer pool vistas.

In terms of amenities, guests can benefit from all the essentials alongside some additional extras including a pillow top mattress, an illuminated makeup mirror along with an iron and ironing board. You can also enjoy in-room Wi-Fi, perfect for those wanting to stay connected with family and friends back home.

A one-of-a-kind bar and two a la cartes

With eight bars and restaurants in total, there’s always something new to tempt your taste buds. From extensive buffet spreads encouraging you to sample a range of flavours to two a la cartes specialising in oriental and Italian fare alongside a great mix of bars, each offering a different drinking experience – Sheraton Miramar Resort is ready and waiting to wine and dine you.

Miramar Restaurant: Serving all your main meals with ever-changing options, this buffet eatery is perfect for fussy eaters. Filled with cooking stations, there’s something to suit all tastes from salad corners for the health conscious, fish options for seafood lovers and Egyptian specialities often made up of meat for those wanting to try some local fare. While, the fresh dessert section will see sugar addicts going back for seconds.

Wave Terrace Restaurant: If you’re looking for drinks in between relaxing dips, then this waterside spot is just the place. Sitting across from the hotel’s main pool area, make your way down the drinks menu or sample its international lunch options.

La Piscina Italian Restaurant: Dinner by candlelight anyone? This romantic eatery is perfect for couples, especially when you discover you’ll be indulging under the stars thanks to its open-air setting. The spot’s pizzas and pastas always go down a treat, not to mention its delicious seafood options.

Oriental 1001: Adored for its cosy atmosphere and Middle Eastern flair, expect fitting interiors such as Moroccan style lamps hanging on the wall and an emphasis on terracotta and gold. Welcoming you with its tasty plates from Egypt and Lebanon with an idyllic beachfront location, get ready for an unforgettable dinner.

Coconut Grove: As the hotel’s dedicated coffee house, this is the place to try traditional drinks.

Miramar Bar: When you’re not admiring the extensive drinks menu, you’ll be in awe of the spot’s jaw-dropping appearance. Housing more bottles than you could even imagine set off by state-of-the-art lighting, the bar is a testament to Michael Grave’s genius designs.

Beach Bar and Snacks: This waterfront venue does exactly what it says on the tin – serves drinks and snacks by the beach. When you’re not making a splash in the sea, order a fruity cocktail or mocktail from the bar, while the burgers are bound to combat your hunger pains come lunch.

El Gouna Wine Boat: You only need to look at this unique bar to realise there’s nowhere quite like it. Connected to the hotel via a bridge, this old wooden boat turned wine bar is quite the drinking experience. Partly submerged in the middle of the water, take a seat and sip on the finest local wine while taking in your spectacular Red Sea surroundings – now that’s what we call drinks with a view.

Adults and children’s activities

Staying active is easy at this get-up-and-go hotel. Of course, there are plenty of areas where you can relax too with sunloungers positioned both by its pools and on the beach. Whether you’re an adult who can’t sit still or you have children with bags of energy – everything one is catered for.

Those aged 12 and up  will adore Sheraton’s fantastic sports facilities such as football and table tennis.

But the beach is where the real fun happens with a diving centre on hand to offer a range of underwater experiences. Beginners will take pride in earning a PADI diving certification, while experts can put their skills to the test with more challenging descends. Your holiday wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the spa. With all manner of offerings available including innovative Anti-Cell treatments, full body scrubs and foot baths – every inch of your skin will feel renewed.

An island-style retreat

This island-hopping resort complete with a private beach has bagged itself a fantastic location. Just a 5-minute shuttle bus ride away from El Gouna’s thriving centre, you’ll find over 100 dining options and an assortment of bars at your fingertips.

Sports lovers will be in their element too with the area’s 18-hole championship golf course which comes with sensational sea views. The resort is also packed with watersports with plenty of diving possibilities at the hotel’s private beach, or you can always catch a catamaran and hit the area’s secret reefs for a unique underwater experience. As for trips into the desert, explore those famous Sahara dunes during  day or experience this sandy terrain at sunset.
