Despite being a small town, La Pineda is a great option when it comes to Spanish getaways. The Blue Flag beach is at the centre of the action as is its striking promenade, which houses everything from Irish bars to big-name clubs and waterfront eateries. Of course, you can’t forget to take advantage of your proximity to Aquopolis Waterpark and PortAventura World.

Go dancing along the promenade: Although fairly laid-back on a whole, La Pineda has a nightlife scene to be proud of. If you happen to be heading here during high season, the after-dark atmosphere is infectious with traditional salsa hangouts, fun-time Irish bars and karaoke spots, all promising a good night on the town. You’ll even find some late-night clubs, including its most famous name, Pacha. It may not have the same clubbing credentials as the world-famous venue which lies in its Balearic neighbour Ibiza, but it still attracts its fair share of well-known DJs.
